Scope of application

Thank you for visiting our website. Any consultation or use of this site implies acceptance of the following provisions.
The etec2019.tcs.ch website belongs to the Swiss Touring Club (TCS), an association based in Vernier (Switzerland), which owns and operates it as the organisator of the ETEC2019 competition.
It is intended to provide general information on the 2019 European Road Safety Education Competition and to collect team entries.

The TCS strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information on the site. Nonetheless, there is no guarantee with regard to the accuracy and completeness of the content of the site.

The TCS reserves the right at any time to modify the content of the site as well as the offer, content and price of products and services presented.

Third party information and products and services, as well as third party sites to which this site may refer, are the sole responsibility of such third parties. The TCS accepts no responsibility for their content or quality.

Intellectual property

Both the site and its content (texts, titles, photos, maps, illustrations, graphics, videos, software, etc.), as well as trademarks, names and logos appearing on it, are legally protected (copyright, trademark law, etc.) and belong to the TCS or are used by the TCS on a contractual basis (e.g. licences).

This site and its content may be used (downloaded, printed, saved, copied, etc.) for private use only. Unless explicitly stated otherwise (e.g. "reproduction authorised if credit given"), any other use, reproduction or distribution, in whole or in part, in any form or on any medium, is prohibited without the prior written consent of the TCS.

Exclusion of warranty and liability

The ETEC2019 website has been designed and is operated with care. The TCS takes all technical and organisational measures necessary for the proper functioning of the site.

Access to and use of the site, however, is the responsibility of the user. Within the legal limits, the TCS offers no guarantee, and particularly in the following cases: 

  • Error or omission, in particular with regard to the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of the information on the site, in particular with regard to data, information, products and services provided by third parties;
  • Partial or total unavailability of the site, or malfunctions;
  • Presence of viruses or harmful elements on the site or server;
  •  Loss, interception or manipulation of data.

The TCS declines, within legal limits, any liability in the event of direct or indirect damages, or claims for damages, whether following on from or related to the access or use of all or part of the website.

Applicable law and jurisdiction

Swiss law is applicable. The exclusive place of jurisdiction in the event of litigation is Geneva.


These legal provisions are valid from March 2019. The TCS reserves the right to modify them at any time, with no prior notice and with immediate effect.

Data protection and security

The Swiss Touring Club (TCS) attaches the utmost importance to the processing of your personal data and respect for your privacy. You will find information in this regard below.

The Terms of Use - Legal Information are also applicable.

1. Data protection in general

Personal data is processed in accordance with legal provisions and in particular with the Federal Data Protection Act. Personal data is used for the purposes mentioned at the time of collection, which you have either approved or which are provided for by law, mainly to enable registration for the competition and the administrative processing of entries.

When using this website, the TCS collects the following data from server log files:

  • the name of the website visited;
  • the IP address of the requester;
  • the date and time of the consultation;
  • the name of the file;
  • notification of successful consultation;
  • the volume of data transmitted;
  • the last Web address visited (referring URL);
  • the type and version of the browser;
  • the user's operating system.

The TCS uses this data for statistical purposes, to optimise its website and to prevent security breaches. Log files are deleted after one year.

Data may, on request, be transmitted to the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), which oversees the organisation of ETEC competitions. 

The TCS and the FIA may use the services of subcontractors (outsourcing). In this case, they shall ensure that subcontractors comply with the legal provisions. 

In addition, your personal data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.

Unless otherwise specified, your data will be stored for as long as necessary to achieve the above-mentioned purposes and/or as required by law.

2. Reporting tools

We use several tools to analyse the use of our website.

These tools use cookies that are stored on your computer. Cookies record information such as the time of the visit, whether it is a first visit and information about the site from which the visitor came.

This data is collected and stored anonymously, so that it cannot be associated with you and the statistics on our website do not include any information about individual users.

The anonymous data recorded through cookies is transmitted to a Google server in the USA or to an Atlas server (a subsidiary company of Facebook) in Sweden where it is saved. Google and Facebook/Atlas may – if necessary – transfer this data to third parties, provided that this is legally required or that these third parties process this data on Google's behalf.

Google and Facebook/Atlas comply with the terms of the Privacy Shield Agreement and are registered as participants in this program with the United States Department of Trade.

By using this website, you consent to the processing of data as described and for the purposes mentioned above.

You may prevent the collection and recording of data at any time with effect for the future. 3.Data Security

Please note that the Internet is a global network accessible to all. Sending or transferring personal data over the Internet using your computer is at your own risk.

Despite the implementation of technical measures by the TCS, it is still possible that data may be lost, intercepted or manipulated by unauthorised third parties. In addition, your computer is outside the security perimeter controlled by the TCS. As a user, it is your responsibility to take appropriate safety measures.

4. Body in charge of the processing and exercise of your rights

You are free to contact the TCS Data Protection Advisor at any time for any request relating to the processing of your data and in particular to exercise your right of access, rectification and deletion of your personal data.
